Louis Poulsen: Nest
Specifications
LP Nest was launched in 2010 and was designed by Bystrup Design. The designer was tasked with creating a post light focusing on technical requirements such as cut-off criteria and glare-free lighting, as well as specific aesthetic aspects. The idea was to take inspiration from structures in nature. Erik Bystrup explains LP Nest as follows: The lamp shade grows out of the cool steel trunk like a stylistic tree crown. A filigree pattern that imitates winters beautiful denuded trees as it gently lifts a disc of life-giving light. The design takes into consideration the development of new light sources. This adaptability adds to the fixtures appeal.
The fixture emits an indirect, soft and symmetrical light. Reflections in the “lattice” create an attractive play of light within the fixture.
