Headquartered in Lonsdale, South Australia, with a representative on the Eastern Seaboard, Pecan Lighting serves projects throughout Australia. We design and manufacture outdoor LED street and solar lighting solutions tailored for councils, urban developers, landscape architects, and end-users. Our Beginnings

1998

Young entrepreneur Cameron Johnston, fresh out of Marketing Management with a Bachelor of Business degree, buys Street and Park Furniture. Working with local South Australian suppliers, he began incorporating more steel fabrication alongside the popular cast iron offerings.

2006

Business is booming. Johnston purchases Rowlands Metalworks, a long-established sheet metal company in Magill, known for electrical cabinetry. With the formation of Pecan Lighting and the growth of both Street and Park Furniture and Rowlands Metalworks, Johnston seeks a modern facility to house all three companies. 

2008

Construction begins on the Lonsdale manufacturing facility. Still based in Lonsdale, Pecan Lighting, Rowlands Metalworks, and SPARK Furniture share a state-of-the-art production facility spanning four sites. 

2022

The group acquires Defence Coatings Systems, expanding further. Collectively known as Rowlands Group, the organization employs over 100 people locally and interstate.

Pecan Lighting takes pride in its skilled and dedicated team across sales, marketing, operations, and support. As a wholly Australian-owned group, the Johnston Group proudly supports local suppliers and operators throughout Australia.
