Alfred Homann designed Kipp Post in 1997 for urban environments where both functional and pleasant lighting comfort was desired. Emphasis was also given to easy maintenance and bulb changes. The aim was for the light to have an expression which made it suited to both modern and classic architecture. A special system makes it easy to till the light head to access the electrical components. The LED version was launched in 2011.

The fixture emits symmetrical light directed downwards. The angle of the internal diffuser, together with the slightly curved top shade, ensures a wide band of glare-free, uniform lighting.

LED Upgrade Kit available for updating conventional Kipp variants with LED. Dimming options available: DALI, CLO, and night time dimming (default setting: 50% power in 8 hours). LI is delivered with outdoor LED driver with transient protection. HI is delivered with integrated surge protection device (SPD). All variants available with Zhaga socket for Smart City compatibility. Including CLO and night time dimming options.
